About the Role

An Archaeologist - Field Technician travels to variable site locations accross Ontario to facilitate archaeological survey. The job entails walking farm fields, digging and screening test pits, and participating in excavation and soil screening activities.
Field Technicians meet in the morning at either our Newmarket office or a predetermined carpool location and travel in company vehicles to the day's work site. Irvin Heritage Inc works on a variety of site types doing a variety of survey methods, giving our Field Techs a breadth of experience across environments, time periods, and site contexts.
Starting Wage: $24+/hr scaled to experience
Requirements
Bachelors in Archaeology or related field
Minimum 2 Field Seasons working in Ontario Archaeology
Ability to walk long distances & lift 40lbs in all weather conditions
Valid Ontario Drivers License
Strong Communication Skills
Ability to follow direction & think critically
Strong adherence to Safety Measures and Protocols
